In Mastering Inner & Outer Freedom 1, the participants have engaged in the work of developing the free trans-paradigmatic mind, understanding liberty versus tyranny, and examining the nature of the Infinite Game and the Eternal War. The work continues.

1- The Eternal War Within

The Infinite Game of evolution unfolds in the microcosm (monad) as well as in the macrocosm (uni-multiverse of monads), and with it the Eternal War within, waged between the Responsible and the Resentful within—between self-honesty and self-dishonesty, between self-integrity and self-dishonor, between authenticity and inauthenticity, and between truth and falsity.

Self-deceit, including self-conceit, is programmed into the mental operating system of human consciousness. The innate sense of self develops into the faux ego, the false self. This is the original lie, the original deceit.

Before you become mature and aware enough to be able to know your authentic self, you develop an erroneous idea of who you are, which is a social and linguistic construct built around your physical existence.

Freedom is not possible for the faux ego, for a programmed social construct. All self-deceptions must be eradicated. You can be self-honest only to the degree of your self-awareness. Therefore, full self-honesty, integrated self-honesty, is possible only when you attain full integrated self-awareness.

“Propaganda does not deceive people; it merely helps them to deceive themselves.” —Eric Hoffer

Even as a master hypnotist cannot hypnotize a fully awake human being, so can no master propagandist deceive a fully self-honest human being. In fact, self-deceit is a form of self-hypnosis. The majority of humanity is hypnotized (programmed) to self-hypnotize and self-deceive.

Being triumphant in the external Eternal War, therefore, requires that we be triumphant in the internal Eternal War. That is to say, we must become fully awakened within and be internally free, which means that we must be fully and integrally self-honest.

“Yasuhiko Genku Kimura is a one-of-a-kind teacher and it is the opportunity of a lifetime to study with him. His intellect is astounding, yet he is balanced and playful, and has the unique ability to see into a person. It is truly an honor to study with Yasuhiko and I consider him the greatest teacher of my life.”

-Krista Tucker, Executive Producer and Head Writer at Walt Disney TV Animation

2- Mastering Inner & Outer Freedom (MIOF) 2

In MIOF 2 as the continuation of MIOF 1, we will further explore the possibility of our inner and outer freedom with an intensified focus on the evolution in and of consciousness and the development of awareness within and without, which involves the eradication of self-deceit and self-deceptive patterns.

MIOF 2 will evolve around your individual projects for inner and outer freedom, and in that context, we will study and delve into the following works in the following order:

(1) The Bhagavad Gita (Krishna Dvaipayana, aka Vyasa)

(2) Shobogenzo Genjokoan (Kigen Dogen)

(3) Thus Spoke Zarathusstra (Friedrich Nietzsche)

(4) Nicomachean Ethics (Aristotle)

(5) Politics (Aristotle)

(6) The Constitution of Liberty (F. A. Hayek)

The initial focus will be on the first three texts for the development of inner freedom, followed by the remaining three texts for the development of outer freedom or liberty, in combination with the texts studied in MIOF 1.

“What makes Yasuhiko Genku Kimura a great philosopher is that instead of just being a philosopher-guru to us through sharing his wisdom, he masterfully helps us become a freethinker and philosopher in our own right and develop our own philosophy. He is such a rare gift!”

-Belinda Clements, Artist

3- The Integral Approach to Freedom

We approach inner and outer freedom integrally, for those who are not internally free are not capable of creating true outer freedom, while those who are unconcerned of outer freedom, of liberty of others, lack the essential moral and spiritual ingredient to achieve inner freedom.

This approach is not new. For example, in Buddhism we have the tradition of the Bodhisattvas whose inner awakening essentially involves the awakening of all human beings. The Bhagavad Gita describes both the internal and the external Eternal War and shows the triumphant path of liberation.

Our integral approach encompasses the Eastern (Indian, Chines, and Japanese) and the Western spiritual, ethical, and political philosophical ideas. There is nothing here to be believed but only to be rethought and revaluated or transvaluated for the development of our own Philosophy/Tao of Freedom and Liberty.

“For more than a decade we have been privileged to have Yasuhiko Genku Kimura as our master and friend. It has been an extraordinary journey. We always feel blessed with the opportunity to be in contact with this original free thinker and highly accomplished teacher. In his course Mastering Inner and Outer Freedom 1, YGK, as usual, surpassed himself. An important theme in our troubled times treated with deep knowledge, profound respect, and a unique perspective that integrates western and eastern philosophies contextualized to our days. This time the lectures are online, allowing us to follow the course series even living inside a Rainforest area in Brazil. Hope to continue to take part in this Infinite Game for the years to come.”

-Luciana Ferreira Leite Pinto, State Attorney of Sao Paulo, Brazil & Walter Behr, Environmentalist, National Park Manager, Brazil

Mastering Inner & Outer Freedom is led by Yasuhiko Genku Kimura.

Yasuhiko Genku Kimura is an integral philosopher and former Zen Buddhist priest, recognized for his virtuosic original and pragmatic integration of the Eastern and Western thoughts.

“Yasuhiko Genku Kimura is a brilliant synthesizing philosophical mind, bringing the East and West together in a manner so original and so deep that such a synthesis as his has rarely been seen. Mr. Kimura has my Yale professors F. S. C. Northrop’s sweeping philosophic vision and Paul Weis’s deep metaphysical insight . . .”
